H. E. President John Evans Atta Mills will be absent from Ghana from Tuesday 14th to Friday 17th July 2009 during which he will attend the XV Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non – Aligned Movement in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. The general debate will focus on the issue of international solidarity for peace and development and the current global economic and financial crisis. Other activities there would include the election of the Bureau, the admission of new members and the presentation of the report on the VIX Non – Aligned Movement Summit. During the absence of President J. E. A Mills from Ghana, H. E. Vice President John Dramani Mahama shall act as President of Ghana.
